  • Vehicle Stickers
The Village of Crete requires vehicles stickers for all vehicles with a "D" plate or higher and can be purchased beginning April 1st of each year. Any vehicle which is licensed by the state as a "D" plate or higher is required by the Crete Municipal Code to have a village sticker. The cost of the sticker is $50.00. Stickers will go on sale April 1 of each year and can be purchased by mail or in person at the Village Hall. A late fee of $75.00 will be in effect if purchased after May 31 of each year and a citation may be issued. The revenue from the sale of stickers is used for street improvements.

A "D" plate or higher vehicle is a vehicle with a gross weight of 8,001 lbs or more (includes vehicle and maximum load). To find this information, refer to your State of Illinois Vehicle Registration.

Vehicle stickers may be purchased by mail, in person at the Village Hall or drop the invoice and payment (no cash) in the mail slot of the Village Hall door and the sticker will be mailed to you.

New residents with a "D" plate or higher vehicle are required to purchase vehicle stickers within 30 days after establishing residency in the Village. Stickers also must be purchased within 30 days of the purchase of a new vehicle requiring a "D" plate or higher. Proof of purchase must be presented to the Village Hall.

Passenger, B-Plate, RV¹s, Motorcycles and Antique Vehicles are not required to have vehicle stickers.
