| The Crete Fire Department operates out of two fire stations. Each station is equipped with an Advance Life Support ambulance and at least one fire engine. Station #1 also has a heavy squad and grass fire truck. The Crete Fire Department has volunteer firefighters and paramedics. To help cover the daytime requirements, we employ firefighter/paramedics from various local departments and private ambulance companies. Together we provide fire protection and ambulance service to the residents of the village. If you are interested in learning more about the requirements to become a volunteer firefighter and receive some of the best training available (and meet some of the best people around), please call the fire station at 708-672-2727 for information.
